Review: Derek Lam 10 Crosby Silent Street
If you like musk, Silent Street is worth sampling. It is unabashedly musky and wholeheartedly synthetic. Unlike a lot of white musks, it's not a "clean" or laundry-type fragrance. Instead, I find it has a hint of skin and a lot of something that is almost ozone. Some people claim they smell floral notes in it but I get none of that at all. It has big, big sillage and is really assertive for such a simple, linear fragrance. I find that it lasts at least 4 hours, usually longer. Silent Street reminds me almost of petrichor, that scent you get after a rainstorm. It's only lacking the earthy quality that goes along with petrichor.
If you want to purchase it, it's available at Sephora, Nordstrom, and probably a whole host of other retailers. It is available in a delightful array of sizes (.34 oz, 1.7 oz, and 5.9 oz) in a range from $25 - $175.
