Review: Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Chihuahua
These Too Faced "melted" lipsticks are super popular right now and I was keen to try this mini size that I received in my Glossy Box. I'm not big on liquid lipsticks in general because they tend to be overly matte and drying. I did not find this to be the case here. The melted lipstick was surprisingly comfortable to wear and it never really dried, so it stayed glossy. I felt it was more like a creamy, pigmented gloss than a lipstick. In that respect, I liked it. I also liked this color, Chihuahua - it's a pleasant, brown-based nude. But let's talk about what I didn't like. First, the packaging. I haaaaaaaaaate these sorts of designs - you squeeze the product through the tip and the tip eventually gets totally nasty and you don't want to use it anymore even though you have more than half the product still remaining. There is really no way to clean it without getting water into the tube. The applicator is also clunky. I found that in applying directly from the tube, I got melted lipstick everywhere and it was rather messy. A lip brush is a must. The other thing that was less than ideal is the formula. It is exceptionally slippery and does not stay put. It wore off quite quickly, and that combined with the need for a lip brush makes it not very portable. Ultimately, I don't think these lip products are a good fit for my needs.
