Review: Chanel No 5 Body Oil
I have become a big fan of dry oil sprays - they are perfect to apply after the shower. I find they absorb better into damp skin than lotions and I love the silky sheen they leave. Of course, a great fragrance is a big bonus. Enter Chanel. I've never really liked Chanel No 5 fragrance, but the version in this body oil is addictive. It has that explosion of soapy aldehydes you expect but the indolic jasmine that to my mind clashes with the soap in the original EDT and parfum is absent here. It's a kinder, gentler No 5 but is absolutely tenacious. The drydown is a slightly vintage-feeling soapy white floral that lasts all night. I also love the packaging. It's a substantial frosted glass bottle in a plain and elegant design. The sprayer works like a dream, dispensing a perfect cloud of dry oil with each pump. If this all sounds good to you, run, don't walk, to your nearest Chanel counter and buy one because the only downside to this stuff is it's LIMITED EDITION.
