Review: Burberry Eye Palette in Slate Blue
Bottom line: this palette was vastly disappointing. I adore the other Burberry palette I own, Nude Blush, but Slate Blue underperformed in every way. As you can see from the swatches, the colors are quite muted compared to how they appear in the pan. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as Burberry color palettes are notoriously understated, but these shadows are so sheer that the darkest three all appear to be a generic grey once applied to the eyelid. The lightest shade is fine to blend out the edges but unremarkable, and too light to be distinguished on the eye as a grey. It just disappears. I found the wear time to be as poor as you might expect for eyeshadow this sheer, with or without primer. I got creasing - and I almost never get creasing. All in all, a very poor showing for a brand of which I expected much more, and a price point that reinforces those expectations.
