Review: MAC Mocha and Plumful Lipsticks
I like MAC lipsticks. They are reasonably priced, have a huge shade range, and a nice variety of formulas. My favorite formulas tend to be cremesheen but neither of these is from that range. Mocha is a satin finish and Plumful is a lustre. I loved the way Mocha swatched - it is silky smooth and such a gorgeous brown-based peach. Almost a pink terracotta shade. On my lips, though, it was just not flattering. I suspect this would look gorgeous on a girl with darker skin, or perhaps someone a bit less cool-toned. Unfortunately, that is not me. Plumful, on the other hand, was a dark horse hit. The lustre formula is not well-liked. It can be a bit waxy and is definitely pretty sheer. Plumful is pretty fantastic, though. It's comfortable to wear and leaves a lovely, flattering purple tint on my lips. Once applied, the color doesn't read as straight purple, but rather a delicate purple pink. The natural color of my lips shows through enough to make this highly wearable in any setting. One out of two ain't bad!
