Review: Canmake Jelly Stick Gloss in Honey Apricot 03
Many people are either lipstick or lip gloss people - and I am a lipstick girl. Not that I hate all glosses; my Becca glosses are great and I do reach for them often. There is something, though, about applying a lipstick that is so much more satisfying to me than a gloss. Perhaps it feels more sophisticated and womanly. This product by Japanese brand Canmake seems to try to bridge the gap between the gloss girls and the lipstick ladies by putting a gloss consistency in lipstick form. I must say, I like the results. I bought the shade Honey Apricot to try. As you can see, it is quite sheer - a light coral sheen. It goes on easy and feels quite moisturizing - it's almost more like a balm than a gloss, in that respect. I also found it lasted a surprisingly long time for such a sheer, slippery product - several hours. My only disappointment is the packaging, and this is probably more indicative of the brand than this particular product, but it just feels cheap. I don't just love lipsticks, I love luxe lipsticks, so I can't say this fills that particular hole in my soul. I'll use this one up, but I won't be buying more.
